REFRAMING - CHANGING YOUR MIND

Reframing is a way of changing your mind.

You are allowed to change your mind about the meaning of any event.

You simply reinterpret the event in a way that empowers you. You discard the former limiting interpretation and adopt an empowering one.

Reframing is not a new high-tech method for reprogramming the mind.

All techniques for reprogramming are low tech. There is no such thing as new cutting-edge technology for reprogramming your mind. The technology has been unchanged from the beginning of time.

Every time somebody uses the words high-tech and cutting-edge when referring to reprogramming your mind, you are hearing the voice of hype and people trying to sell you a bill of psychological goods.

If there was a high-tech cutting-edge way of reprogramming your mind, it would not be a secret. Everyone would know about it, and everyone would be doing it.

YOUR BELIEFS CREATE YOUR PERSONAL WORLD

When you change your mind about something, you look at it in an entirely different way. You develop a different perspective about the event or experience. You put a different frame around it.

Reframing is placing a new belief around your experiences to give them a new meaning.

If you change your beliefs about anything, you change its meaning. You have done a reframe.

Your beliefs create your personal world and give each experience its meaning.

There is no meaning to any event except for the meaning you give to it, and your beliefs assign that meaning.

Your belief system examines each event in your life and assigns it a meaning.

Events are devoid of meaning until they encounter your beliefs.

Suddenly, neutral events become charged with meaning and emotion.

THE WORLD AS YOU BELIEVE IT TO BE

When you pass the outside world through your belief system, you discover the world as you believe it to be.

This personalized version of the world is unique. No one experiences the same reality as you, and no one can understand the world in exactly the same way that you do.

The creation of your personal world is not a trivial event.

It is the the only world you will ever know. You created it, and you must live with it.

If you create a personal world full of limitations and dominated by frailties, you suffer.

If you create a world full of possibilities and love, you prosper.

Since you are a prisoner of this world, you should create a world that empowers you.

If everything is a hassle, if you feel hostile and negative, if your relationships are falling apart, then major revisions need to be made in your beliefs. Those beliefs create negative and hostile frames around all your experiences.

If your life is full of love, if you have strongly positive personal relationships, if you do not feel hemmed-in by limitations, then your beliefs are doing a good job. Those beliefs create positive frames around all your experiences.

DON'T LET DESTRUCTIVE BELIEFS STEAL YOUR JOY

When the events of life seem dark and hopeless, there is a problem in your beliefs.

When you feel like life is persistently beating you down, you need to take a serious look at your beliefs.

Life is neutral.

Your negative beliefs are stealing your joy and your dreams. Your own thoughts are destroying you.

CHANGING YOUR BELIEFS CHANGES THE MEANING OF YOUR LIFE

You can modify the beliefs that create the frame around the experiences of life.

When you change your beliefs, the frame changes as well.

The new frame transforms the meaning of the experience.

You always have a choice as to how your interpret the events of life.

You either harm yourself or help yourself with the interpretation you select.

BECOME YOUR OWN SPIN DOCTOR

Politicians have spin-doctors that make a career of taking the facts and putting them in the best light to suit their agenda.

If corrupt politicians and spin-doctors can do reframes for their own dubious ends, then you certainly have the right to do the same for ends that are far more worthy.

Become your own spin doctor and reinterpet the events of life in a manner that moves you in the direction of your dreams.

Frame your experiences in terms that empower you. Create positive and resourceful reframes.

CHOOSE THE MEANING OF YOUR LIFE

There is no meaning to any event except for the meaning you choose to give to it.

Choose the meaning well, and you move toward your dreams.

Choose the meaning poorly, and your life turns into a nightmare.

There is never any reason to interpret any event in a negative manner. No matter how negative a situation is, you only make it worse by interpreting it negatively.

You can take a bad day and make it into the worst day of your life.

No rational individual should ever take a bad experience and make it worse by interpreting it in the most unfavorable manner.

You were advised as a child not to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Every day you encounter challenges, and you are the only person who can turn challenges into catastrophes.

You are also the only person who can take apparent catastrophes and convert them into challenges.

It all happens in your beiefs.
